Each month Committee members report on events and activities of the City Council, Downtown Association, environmental affairs, the Planning Commission, the RDA, real estate both commercial & residential, renewable energy resources, tourism and the Chamber. In an effort to reach out and engage the business community the Committee provides insight and help to all local businesses to assist them in overcoming inhibitors and increase their business.
Recently an updated Business Advocacy element was added to the Committee. By listening to issues facing any Morgan Hill business it is the goal of the new “Advocates” to help struggling businesses become healthier and increase their contribution to the local economy.
The Business Advocacy element puts into play several proactive actions by Committee members which include business to business outreach visits which are conducted by specially trained Committee members - aka Advocates. The outreach visits focus on listening to the issues which may be inhibiting a company’s growth or threatening their ability to remain in the area. After the visit the Advocate seeks the input of the Committee to develop solutions.

This committee, as well as other Chamber Councils, employ and issues worksheet to thoroughly analyze an issue.
